As part of its renewed strategic vision, Reading Terminal Market is proud to introduce CHAMPS, Community Health Awareness Matters to Philadelphians. This initiative reaffirms the Market’s commitment to serving as a vital resource for local residents and a strong partner to organizations working to improve community well-being across the region.
Through a partnership with Healthy Minds Philly (a program of DBHIDS), Greater Philadelphia Health Action (GPHA), and BenePhilly of Philadelphia’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) CHAMPS hosts monthly tabling events at the Market, connecting Philadelphians to essential resources. Examples of offerings provided by these sessions include free, confidential behavioral health, blood pressure, and diabetes screenings conducted by trained professionals such as those at GPHA, from Healthy Minds Philly and other organizations.
In addition to screenings, during these tabling sessions, visitors can expect:
Educational resources about common health conditions
Resources providing guidance on benefits access and navigation
