PHILADELPHIA – Reading Terminal Market today announced that it was voted Best Public Market in America for 2026 following a USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice competition. The Market also achieved this recognition in 2021, the contest’s inaugural year, and 2022.

Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia’s historic public market and a 501(c)3 non-profit, came out on top against 20 public markets across the country vying for the title of Best Public Market. The initial list was curated by a panel of 10Best local experts and contributors with readers then voting to narrow it down to the top 10. Voting ran from March 16 through April 13 with users able to vote once per day. Joining Reading Terminal Market in the top three spots are Milwaukee Public Market and Boston Public Market.

“This award is special because it’s chosen by people that have made memories at Reading Terminal. It shows the Philly pride that’s coursing not only through the city, but across the country, especially in a year as special as 2026,” said Annie Allman, CEO and General Manager of Reading Terminal Market. “With a busy summer ahead and Philadelphia readying itself to welcome millions of new people, our goal is to keep bringing positive experiences to everyone, from first-time visitors to our MVP Philly locals. We will continue to live up to the title of Best Public Market. Thank you to everyone who voted!”

Reading Terminal Market is home to more than 80 small, family-owned businesses. The Market is open 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. seven days a week and proudly provides access to fresh, affordable food for its communities alongside global flavors, artisan goods, and some of Philadelphia’s favorite products. More than 50 merchants are available for delivery within 10 miles of the Market through Mercato.
