GPHA Health Screening

Receive a FREE preventative screening

Reading Terminal Market is partnering Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA) and the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) to offer free preventative health screenings on September 6 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m at Reading Terminal Market Alcove (to the right of City Kitchen).

Visitors to the Market can take advantage of blood pressure and diabetes screenings from trained GPHA staff. Nutrition counseling and educational materials will also be on hand. DBHIDS staff will be on-site offering behavioral health screenings.

No pre-registration is required. These free screenings are open to walk-in availability.

Medical will only be able to conduct screenings for Philadelphia residents.

We will be prepared to schedule appointments for those needing a referral for additional screenings.

This partnership is part of a new initiative from Reading Terminal Market, Community Health Awareness Matters to Philadelphians (CHAMP). As the non-profit gears up to launch a new strategic plan, Reading Terminal is committed to continuing its service as a resource for Philadelphians and strong partner for other organizations looking to better the lives of communities across the region.

Reading Terminal Market, GHPA, and DBHIDS will also host an event dedicated to mental health screenings on Saturday, October 5.
