Filbert Street between Jefferson Station and Reading Terminal Market will transform into a highly activated pedestrian plaza. And thanks to a big investment by the Pennsylvania Convention Center\, we are lighting up the 1100 block of Filbert Street. \nImagine showcasing your brand to hundreds of thousands of visitors for 56 consecutive days (early June to early August) outside a Philadelphia Treasure and National Historic Landmark. Play this video to see how ESPN activated Filbert Street for the launch of “The Philly Special” documentary and get an idea of the fun\, excitement and brand exposure that can come to life on The Plaza.  And the space is under cover! Serving as an Ambassador is a light lift and a great way to stay connected to the heart of Philadelphia. \nWhether you’re a regular or new to the Market\, becoming an Ambassador is simple\, fun\, and flexible. \n  \n\n\n \n\nAbout the Ambassador Program\nAmbassadors will serve as Market volunteers – helping visitors navigate the Market\, along with sharing what they know and love about both Reading Terminal and Philadelphia. \nHow to become an Ambassador\nOnce you’ve applied online – you will hear back from our program coordinator to learn more about the program structure and volunteer scheduling process. \nAre there specific requirements?\nNo! We welcome anyone from Philadelphia and the tri-state area. \nAny age and all walks of life are welcome! \n\n \n\n\n\nAs a Reading Terminal Market Ambassador\, volunteer activities include but are not limited to:\n\n\nWarmly greeting visitors and answering questions about the Market’s history\, Merchants\, and offerings.\n\n\nProviding accurate\, up-to-date information on Merchant products\, food options\, and special events.\n\n\nHelping guests explore the Market’s diversity\, including details on various food types and artisan goods.\n\n\nGuiding visitors through the layout\, highlighting areas such as restrooms and eating zones.\n\n\nScheduling and Assignments:\n\n\nCurrently\, Ambassadors are on-site 4 days a week\, i.e.\, Thursday through Sunday – with the intention to have volunteers on-site 7 days a week by Winter 2025.\n\n\nAmbassadors cover the peak times of the day in 2 to 3 hour shifts.\n\n\nOnce fully onboarded\, there is an electronic scheduling process for the volunteer shifts.\n\n\nDuring your time on the Market floor you will be posted in RTM’s Center Court or the Welcome Center (Information Desk on 12th Street).\n\n\nVolunteer Expectations:\n\n\nTo volunteer at least one shift a month (3 hours).\n\n\nBecome knowledgeable about the history of the Reading Terminal Market and the Merchants.\n\n\nComfort working in a busy urban environment.\n\n\nFriendly demeanor.\n\n\nComplete the training requirements for the Ambassador Volunteer role.\n\n\nA love for the Market and Philadelphia!\n\n\nUpcoming Training Dates\nMay\n\n\nVirtual | Fri.
