Friends,
The coronavirus pandemic continues to pose unprecedented challenges to our community. However, with each change and progression of the pandemic, we strive to do everything we can to protect the public health, ensure food access and inform you along the way.
This week, a member of the Reading Terminal community tested positive for COVID-19. Since learning of this, we have been in constant communication with this person to ensure that all risk mitigation measures, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), are being followed. These measures include the following:
- Adhering to the CDC’s guidance on deep cleaning processes;
- Informing those who were in close contact to the infected individual of the potential exposure; and
- The impacted merchant ceased operations to allow those affected to self-quarantine and deep clean.
We will continue to monitor the situation, follow the recommendations issued by the CDC, and provide updates to the community. Furthermore, we have implemented measures to control the number of individuals who are in the Reading Terminal facility at any one time and we have also placed the Market on an enhanced deep cleaning schedule.
While the pandemic continues to impact all of us, the Reading Terminal Market will do everything it can to stay the course and ensure that it continues to serve as a safe and vital source of food for the Philadelphia community.
Sincerely,
Anuj Gupta
