We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Instacart, the only service that can deliver groceries from multiple local stores within an hour. Beginning later this fall, Instacart will provide delivery of produce and grocery items from participating Reading Terminal Market merchants. Additional products and merchants will be added in a later phase of the program. “We are excited to partner with Instacart and offer this remarkable service to Reading Terminal Market customers,” said Paul Steinke, General Manager of Reading Terminal Market. “For the first time our customers will be able to get home delivery of products from the Market within an hour. Yaretzi is a school and ballet of authentic Mexican dance created by Maribel and Alfredo Navarro to rescue and strengthen Mexican roots and traditions. This summer, the Market is holding its first-​ever nutrition education programs for Philadelphia school children and the program has been a big hit! Approximately 120 kids aged 913 are learning about healthy food at the Reading Terminal Market’s Eat Right Cooking Camp. This innovative nutrition education program is targeted to middle school students whose families receive SNAP benefits (“food stamps.”) The Market provides a uniquely vibrant venue for nutrition education, with access to a broad range of fresh, local and healthy foods. With help from our partners at the Health Promotion Council, Chef Angela Scipio is teaching food safety, basic nutrition and hands-​on preparation of delicious healthy foods.
